About the Shop
My Blooming Rose started in 2010 when Rose Chen got tired of generic flower arrangements at the big-box stores and decided to open something different—a neighborhood flower shop where people could walk in, talk to an actual florist, and get flowers that felt personal.
We’re now in our sixteenth year, and we’re still small by choice. Rose runs the shop with her daughter Lily (who joined full-time in 2019) and two florists: Thomas and Maya. We’re not trying to scale. We’re trying to remember every customer’s favorite flower, show up on time, and treat your order like it’s going to someone we care about too.
What Makes Us Different
We actually know our customers. If you order from us regularly, we remember. We’ll notice when you switch from pink to coral. We’ll ask how the last arrangement was received. We’ve had customers come in for the same anniversary flowers for eight years straight, and we never have to ask what they want.
We deliver fast—really fast. Same-day delivery within Memphis is standard. Order by 2pm, get flowers by 5pm. We’re not waiting for a distribution center or relying on third-party logistics. Lily and Thomas are in the van.
We design with intention. Every arrangement gets an actual florist touch: stems are cleaned, water is fresh, foliage is pruned, and the vase matters. You can see the difference the moment you open the box.
We handle the hard orders. Sympathy flowers, memorial services, difficult divorces—we’ve done them all. We know what to say and what not to say. We show up.

Shop by Occasion
Birthdays: Bright colors, personality, fun. We do a lot of rainbow-toned arrangements and arrangements built around favorite flowers.
Anniversaries: Roses, garden flowers, romance without being cheesy. Our signature is the Forever Rose (garden roses, lisianthus, eucalyptus, and a whisper of spray paint for shimmer—sounds weird, looks elegant).
Sympathy: Pale, calming, respectful. Whites, creams, soft purples. We’ve done hundreds of these and we understand the weight.
Just Because: Our Memphian Garden arrangement (a seasonal mix of whatever’s beautiful right now—dahlias in summer, hellebores in winter, garden roses in spring). It changes with the season but always looks like someone who knows flowers put it together.
Get Well: Brighter colors, optimistic energy. Sunflowers, cheerful spray roses, greenery that feels alive.
Fresh This Week
Right now (late April) we’re working with gorgeous garden roses from local growers, dahlias that just started coming in, ranunculus in every pale shade imaginable, and eucalyptus that smells incredible. Peonies are finishing up but we have a few premium stems left. If you need seasonal flowers at their peak, this is the moment.
Next week’s shipment is bringing in some beautiful airbrushed spray roses (ask us about these—they’re stunning and last incredibly long) and more hellebores for a customer who’s asked for them in every arrangement for two years straight.
Wedding & Event Florals
We handle weddings, events, installations, and everything in between. Rose has been designing wedding flowers for 16 years. Lily spent two summers apprenticing with a floral designer in Atlanta before coming back to Memphis. Together, they’ve done everything from intimate 20-person ceremonies to 300-person galas.
Consultations are free. We’ll meet at the venue, discuss your vision, show you options, and design something that feels like you. We typically need 8 weeks’ notice, but for smaller events we can sometimes move faster.
